Edna W. Miller, 90, of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away on Friday June 12, 2015. She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on Monday March 16, 1925 to H.B. and Lectia Marcum. Edna was one of sixteen children and learned quickly how to be a strong, independent woman; she held her own until her final days. She is a woman who lived through numerous events of American history and would gladly tell you about the Great Depression, making parachutes during WWII, walking to Findlay Market to buy groceries, attending ball games at Crosley Field, assassination of JFK, and many more. As a member of Partners in Prime senior citizens center, she would organize and run the bake sales to bring in money for the center, a place which many of her dear friends gathered every week. Edna loved to ballroom dance, jitterbug, talk movie stars, and no holiday or party was celebrated right unless Edna hosted. She had a talent to sew but her true passion was cooking and baking. No one in her house went hungry and there was no stranger she wouldn’t share her desserts with. We can smell her cakes now!
