Edna Harrison Reitema

Edna Harrison Reitema, age 90 of Port St. Lucie, FL formerly of Amsterdam, New York passed away Friday, December 30, 2005 at Hospice of Hamilton in Hamilton, OH. She was born September 23, 1915 in Amsterdam, NY, the daughter of John and Margaret (Stratton) Harrison. On September 23, 1939 she married Ralston W. Reitema at Forest Avenue Methodist Church in Amsterdam, NY. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Spanish Lakes Ladies Gold League. Other than being with her family, Edna enjoyed nothing more than playing golf and bridge with her friends.
She is survived and deeply missed by her children, Gordon (Marta) Reitema and Linda Jean (Richard) McKnight; grandchildren, Karen Burck, Kristen Cortes, Kurt Reitema and Michael Reitema; and great-grandchildren, Kyle Chesney, Shane Burck, Maegan Burck, Sofie Reitema, Ian Cortes and Kaelyn Cortes. Mrs. Reitema was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Mary Thomson and Ruth Hoover.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Avance Funeral Home & Crematory of Fairfield, OH is serving the family.
