EMENAKER

Ed, age 76, of Hamilton, passed away at Berkeley Square in Hamilton, February 29, 2016, following complications associated with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on January 2, 1940 in Hamilton to Edward Ralph and Catherine (nee Connelly) Emenaker. Ed is the beloved husband of 51 years of Betty (nee Miller); loving father of Nick (Brandi) Emenaker and Kristina (Ron) Miles; devoted grandfather of Lauryn and Taylor Emenaker, and Charlie and Raegan Miles. He is also survived by his sister, Muriel (Ron) Armentrout. Ed was a former member of the Tri-County Ski Club, driving the tow boats to pull exhibition skiers. He also enjoyed jumping ski ramps and performing on trick skis. His and Betty’s love of boating and skiing has been passed on to his children and his grandchildren. Ed enjoyed the Lake Cumberland area, spending a great amount of time in Kentucky after his second retirement. Ed also loved spending time in his garage and workshop, tinkering on cars and other things. He enjoyed searching for and collecting antiques. Following Ed’s retirement after thirty years from Hamilton Tool, Ed and Betty started the family business, NK Machine Tool and Assembly, at their residence in 1985. As the business grew, it moved to its current location in Lindenwald, where his children now own and operate the business. Ed is known to be a determined worker, never shying away from a challenge. Ed is also known to do his best to help someone in need. He made many friends over the years and will fondly be remembered as never knowing a stranger. The family wishes to thank the Berkeley Square staff for their wonderful care, as well as the compassionate care of the Vitas Hospice nurses. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. March 6, 2016 at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield 45014. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Julie Billiart, 224 Dayton St., 45011 with Father Mike Pucke officiating. Burial will follow at Springdale Cemetery, Reily, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Julie Billiart or Vitas Hospice, 11500 Northlake Drive, Suite 400, Cincinnati,  45249.
