Ellen Johnson

Age 87 of Hamilton passed away, Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Mercy Francsican at Schroder. She was born September 29, 1920 in Hamilton, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Ortolf) Gluhm. On September 12, 1944, Ellen married Charles H. Johnson, also of Hamilton. She worked for the Hamilton City Schools in the cafeteria at Harding and Taft. Ellen was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. She also enjoyed gardening, breakfast at Bob Evans, and most importantly, her grandchildren.
Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charles H. Johnson; children, Michael (Susan) Johnson and Mary Ellen (Gary) Smith; grandchildren, Kevin (Renee) Willis, Benjamin Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Catherine (Danny) Russo and Nicholas (Amy) Smith; and great-grandson, Andrew Willis. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; and 5 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be at Greenwood Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or Mercy Franciscan at Schroder. Also, condolences may be sent at www.avancefuneralhome.com.
