FARMER, Elliott Braxton
Age 93 of Fairfield passed away April 23, 2016 at his home. He was born September 21, 1922 in Motley, VA, the son of Charles A. and Frances T. (Roark) Farmer. On February 12, 1943 Elliott married Lena Stanley in Catlettsburg, KY. He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII and the Korean War, earning multiple citations including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Elliott worked as a Pipe Fitter for various companies and retired in 1987 from General Motors. He was a member of North Fairfield Baptist Church and served the Lord during his Christian life as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and a Bible study teacher for many years.
Mr. Farmer leaves behind his loving family: wife, Lena Farmer; children, Claudia (Robert) Hays, Pamela (Edward) Pottenger, and Elliott (Kimberly) Farmer; grandchildren, Timothy (Candy), Theodore (Kathy), Tonda (Warren), Blair (Carol), Taisha (Daniel), Bryan (Brittaney), and Braxton; sister, Aurellia Dunlap; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 7 siblings.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. – until time of service (1 p.m.), Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Fairfield Church of God, 6001 Dixie Hwy., Fairfield, OH 45014.
