Erin S., age 71, of Fairfield passed away on July 10, 2020. She was born on July 5, 1949 in Hamilton to the late Richard and Dolores (nee Kisinger) Smith. On September 17, 1994 she married Charles B. O’Mera he preceded her in death on March 23, 2009.

She was a graduate of Fairfield High School, class of 1967; Mt. Saint Joseph University, B.S. Chemistry; and the University of Cincinnati M.S. Pharmaceutical Science. Erin was a substitute teacher, adjunct professor, clinical trial mentor, and medical writer. She had an infectious smile that could light up a room and she never met a stranger.

She is survived by her children, Gina (Brian) Bell and Daniel Ciavarella; grandchildren, Anlsey, Emmie, Ashton, Megan, Brandon, Nathan, Rylin, and Katelyn; siblings, Larry (Carol) Smith and Michael “Kim” (Vickie) Smith; nieces and nephews, Julie Sackella, Amy Kienle, Kevin Smith, Michael “Shane” Smith, Nicholas Smith, Staci Janszen and their sweet children and families; other family and friends.

Erin was actively involved in Fairfield Paragon Optimist Club; Fairfield High School class of 1967 reunion committee; enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and numerous friends; avid animal lover; mining for gems; stained glass; jewelry making; camping; and attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

Visitation will be Monday, July 20, 2020 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, 45014.
