Esther Agnes (Davis) Whittington

Esther “Agnes” Whittington, age 85, of Fairfield, went home to Jesus on Sunday, September 19, 2021. She was born September 14, 1936, in Robertsberg, WV to Elias and Bertha Davis. She had one brother, William Davis. After graduating High School, she worked in her family’s fruit markets until she married the love of her life, Richard Whittington on September 8, 1956. They built a wonderful life together that lasted 63 years and were blessed with 4 daughters. Agnes was kind and generous in helping anyone that needed it and showered her loved ones with her beautiful, crocheted gifts, delicious meals, sweets, and canned goods. She loved to be “on the go” and spend time with family. She deeply loved her family including all her extended families; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Agnes will be remembered as a devoted Wife, Mom, Grandma/Nana, friend, and most importantly, respected church elder that loved Jesus. She laughed a lot, spoke her mind, and loved with her whole heart. Her beautiful smile and comforting hugs will be forever missed. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, one brother and many beloved aunts and cousins. She is survived by her children, Sonuia Pirtle, Sandra Finneran, Linda Whittington, and Lana (Jeff) Sprague; grandchildren, Shawn, Dawn, Laura, Joshua (Monica), Christina (Akhil), Malinda, Michael, and Alexander; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jackson, Elizabeth, Cici, and Rylee; and numerous family and friends. A memorial celebration will be held Saturday September 25, 2021 at Fairfield West Baptist Church- 5345 Muskopf Rd. Fairfield, OH 45014. Visitation will be 10-11am. Celebration Memorial Service will follow at 11 am. Agnes will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum.
