Esther Anna Marie Zugbaum

Age 96, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Hospice of Cincinnati, Blue Ash.

Born in Luseland, Saskatchewan, Canada she moved to Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 9. After her marriage to Frederick William Zugbaum in 1943 she moved to Mishawaka, Indiana where she and her husband had a Real Estate and Insurance Business for 30 years. She became a vital member of the community and was named Woman of the Year in 1959 for her work with community projects and the Girl Scouts of America. She and her husband later retired in Dawson Springs, Kentucky where she continued to be active in the community.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Frederick William Zugbaum. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (Jim) York of West Chester, OH; her son, Craig (Jill) Zugbaum of Fairfield, OH; grandson, Ryan Johnson of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Lindsey (Capt. Brent) Stevens of Escondido, CA.; two step-granddaughters, Cheryl (Lance)Angle of Indianapolis, IN and Shawn (Aaron) Cowan of Fairfield, OH; and four great-grandchildren.

A private service was held at the Avance Funeral Home for the immediate family. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday in her honor at Faith Community United Methodist Church in West Chester, Ohio. Remembrances to Hospice of Cincinnati or The Ronald McDonald House of Cincinnati are preferred.
