Ethel Zientek, winner of 1944's Woodward High School's "Best Eyes" and maker of the tastiest sweet iced tea north of the Mason-Dixon, died Thursday, Dec. 1, at 85. Quick with a sharp wit and ready chuckle, Ethel leaves behind her son, Jim Zientek; daughter-in-law, Tracy Zientek; granddaughters, Jess Zientek, Maxine and Hannah Mendelson, and grandsons, Eric and Keith Zientek.
She now joins those who went before her: mother, Ettie J. Hogg; father, James Hogg; brothers, Donald, Kenneth, Frank and Malcolm Hogg; husband, Frank Zientek; son, Jack Zientek, and daughter, Janet Zientek. There is one proper (and properly outrageous) reunion happening somewhere.
For the rest of us here, "T'aint easy, McGee" A true solace to those who loved her and strength to those who needed it, we raise our glasses to you, Ethel Marie Zientek. You are much missed.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Ethel's name may be given to Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45242
