Eunice Jane (Arent) Lorimer

LORIMER, Eunice Jane Arent Age 86 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Schroder Manor in the care of Hospice of Cincinnati. Jane was born March 5, 1928, the fourth daughter of Vernon Drew and Hilda (Alexander) Arent at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton. She was raised in a loving household by doting parents on North “F” Street and was a 1946 graduate of Hamilton High School. Jane was preceded in death by her three sisters, Lois Brandenburg and her husband Pete, Mary Helen Long and her husband Bob, and Margery (Lionel) Johnson. Jane is survived by her beloved daughter of Deerfield Beach, Florida, Joan Marie Van Stone, Joan’s husband Ron, and their son, Bobby Drew age 19, of whom Jane was so proud. Bobby is a sophomore in the Honors Program at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton on a full scholarship, fulfilling his Nana’s greatest wish that he graduate from college. Mom passed her love of learning on to us, and her award-winning speech writing and public speaking skills on to Bobby. She is also survived by Lois and Pete’s son, Dan Brandenburg, and Mary Helen and Bob’s daughters, Beth Muhlhauser and Becky (Mike) Flick, all of Hamilton, and their families and Marge’s husband, Lionel Johnson of Sharonville. The Van Stone’s would like to offer thanks to Jane’s loving caregivers at Schroder Manor, past and present, and the Hospice of Cincinnati for their superior around-the-clock care and reassurance during Mom’s final days. Special heartfelt thanks to Dan Brandenburg for helping Mom so much through the years and delivering milk shakes to her regularly. We thank God for our cousin Becky Flick, who took our place to care for her Aunt Jane as we are, regretfully, so far away. Her cremains will be buried at Rose Hill Burial Park at a later date.
