Evelyn Marie (Guyler) Colgate

COLGATE Evelyn Marie, age 94, of Trenton passed away on October 26, 2016. She was born on August 23, 1922 in Hamilton to John and Fannie Guyler. On October 6, 1945 she married Dwight “Jack” Colgate; he preceded her in death on September 1, 2000. Evelyn was the secretary to the Superintendent of Schools for the Hamilton City Schools until her retirement in 1980.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Carol and her husband Frank Poindexter; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Long, Carrie (Jason) Hartman, and Gregory Poindexter; great grandchildren, Tyler, Ben, Gabe, and Avery. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Earl and Shorty Guyler; and sister, Mary Brummit.
Visitation will be Monday October 31, 2016 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, 45014.
