Fannie Mae Cunagin

Age 95 of Fairfield passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Tri-County Extended Care. She was born December 20, 1913 in Jackson Co., KY the daughter of Frank and Martha (McCowan) Lake. On August 15, 1932 she married Abel Cunagin also in Jackson Co., KY. He later preceded her in death on April 2, 1990. Fannie Mae was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairfield and was the "backbone" of the family business, Cunagin Construction.

She leaves behind sons, Gene (Freda) Cunagin and Bruce (Denise) Cunagin; daughter-in-law, Becky Cunagin; son-in-law, Paul Ivers; sister, Josephine Allen; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Ms. Cunagin was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Betty Jo Ivers.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. - until time of service (12 Noon), Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Rev. Doug Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. The family would like thank the nurses and care givers at Tri-County Extended Care for the excellent treatment received during this hard time.
