BEYER

Fern L. (nee Stewart), age 94, beloved wife of the late, Donald F. Beyer, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2016.

She is the loving mother of Janet (Ed) Burns, John (Donna) Beyer, Barbara (Al) Scalf, and James (Pam) Beyer; grandmother to Clay (Amy) Beyer, Jessica Walton, Michelle (Brian) Nieman, and Randy (Amanda) Beyer; great-grandmother to Forrest, John, Ashley, Joselyn, Brock, Jason and Joey.

Fern was born on April 7, 1922, in Fairmont Minnesota. She grew up during the Great Depression and this influenced her outlook on life. Fern graduated from high school, where she met her future husband Donald; after graduating from high school Fern worked as a secretary for a manufacturing company in Fairmont. At the age of 21 she moved to El Paso, Texas, to marry Donald, who had enlisted in the Army and was stationed in El Paso. After WWII they relocated to Minnesota and began their family.

They moved to Cincinnati in 1955 when Donald was transferred. After Donald’s early death in 1977 Fern worked at Graeters, Square D Corp., and Providence Hospital as a secretary. She was very independent and because to the careful way she managed her finances, was able to provide for herself until her death. Fern did not worry about the past; she always looked forward with a positive attitude. She had a ready smile for everyone she met. She will be missed.
