KLAMO
Francis A. “Frank”, age 96, of Fairfield passed away July 26, 2014. Frank was born on January 25, 1918 in Middletown, Ohio to Cyprian and Mary Klamo. He was married to Rita (nee Kammer) for 63 years until her death in 2005. From this union were born; Mary Jo Gray, Tom (Mary Eve) Klamo, Bill (Judy)Klamo, Barb (Bill) Hess, Patty (Tony) Steiniger, Steve (Beth) Klamo, Tina (Paul) Boyatt, and Richard Klamo; 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear friends, Vernon and Marlene Reist. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. Frank served his country in the Army during WWII. He was employed by General Motors at the Fisher Body Plant as Plant Protection where he retired as a Lieutenant in 1980. Frank was a founding father of the city of Fairfield; founding member of Sacred Heart Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector; and Fairfield Youth Baseball. He was a member of the Fisher Body Retiree Club and the Society of St. Vincent De Paul. More than anything Frank loved his family and spending time with them. His love of woodworking was obvious in the things that he created in his shop. The family wishes to thank the nurses and aids of the 5th floor tower at Mercy Fairfield and Dr. Rebecca Koehl for the care they gave to Frank during his illness. Visitation will be Wednesday July 30, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 400 Nilles Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014 Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery will full military honors.
