Freda Brower

October 13, 1934 — February 17, 2010

Age 75 of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. She was born October 13, 1934 in Clay Co., KY, the daughter of Lawrence W. and Edna (Hubbard) Smith. On November 25, 1960 Freda married Marvin Brower. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1953 and attended Good Samaritan School of Nursing. Freda worked as a Nurse at Ft. Hamilton Operating Room and later worked for Drs. Dorochowicz, Beidenbender, James Carr and Campbell before retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Lindenwald United Methodist Church.

Freda leaves behind her husband, Marvin Brower; sister, Geraldine "Gerry" Smith; brothers and sisters-in law, Claire "Butch" and Wanda Brower and John and Mardyne Brower; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the employees of Ft. Hamilton Hospital and Berkeley Square, and Dr. Paula Weisenberger, Dr. Richard Sternberg, Dr. Timothy Brown, and Dr. George Manitsas for their care through Freda's long illness.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Funeral and Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Freda Brower Memorial Fund, c/o Hamilton Community Foundation, 319 N. 3rd St., Hamilton, OH 45011 or to Berkeley Square Retirement Community, 100 Berkeley Dr., Hamilton, OH 45013.
