George Kell, age 69, passed away on Monday February 9, 2026.
George was born on June 20, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Clifford Kell and Bernadette Kell. He built a life rooted in devotion to his family and quiet strength that those who knew him came to rely on.
George graduated from Millersburg Military Institute in Millersburg, Kentucky, and later from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky, where he formed lifelong friendships that remained an important part of his life. He credited his military school background with launching him into a successful career in steel and metals sales. Over the years, he worked with Central Steel and Wire Company and Riverfront Steel, where his discipline, integrity, and strong relationships earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
In retirement, George continued to serve his community by volunteering and working as a substitute teacher in the Winton Woods School District, where he naturally mentored primary and middle school students. His steady presence and encouraging spirit made a lasting impact on many young lives.
George married Carol Foote Kell on June 13, 1981, and together they began a full and devoted life dedicated to one another, their family, and their friends.
George was a proud father to his son, David (Ashley) Kell, and his daughter, Amy (Haruna) Maganga, and a devoted grandfather to Keegan Kell, William Kell, Nyles Maganga, and Ellis Maganga, each of whom brought him great joy.
He is also survived by his brother, Tom Kell, as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
George will be remembered for his steadfast love, loyalty, and the deep care he showed for those around him. He was also appreciated for his love of music and his varied playlist, which reflected his wide-ranging tastes and brought joy to gatherings and quiet moments alike. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
Memorial gifts may be made to Giving Voice Foundation (https://givingvoicefdn.org/) and Hospice of Cincinnati (https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/), both of which had a meaningful impact on the final year of his life. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.avancefuneralhome.com
