Gerald Lee Sibble of Monroe, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday January 18, 2025. Gerry fought to the very end of a cruel unrelenting illness with grace and dignity. Never losing who he was or his endearing smile (or that dramatic flair if you know you know).
Born in Ontario, Canada Gerry grew up in Rochester, New York before moving to Kettering, Ohio as a young child. A 1972 Fairmont East High School Gerry in high school participated in theatre perfecting his knack for being on stage and a masters of ceremony that would serve him well later in life. Gerry went on to pursue his bachelor’s degree at Bowling Green State University where he would meet the love of his life Marsha. Married August 2, 1975, Gerry and Marsha would eventually settle down in Fairfield, Ohio. Gerry would go on to purse and graduate with his master’s degree from Xavier University all the while establishing his professional career and supporting his young family. Gerry had a successful career with countless accomplishments, and awards over his career. Beloved by his coworkers, and clients at financial institutions throughout the country, Gerry was held in high regard by all. Besides Gerry’s incredible work ethic, it was also widely known Gerry had incredible party planning skills, sweet tooth, outgoing engaging personality, and smile that could light up a room.
While work was a major part of Gerry’s life, being a husband, Dad, and PaPaw were always Gerry’s most important roles in life. It was common to see Gerry cheering on his sons at soccer games or taking a red eye flight home from a work trip to spend his entire weekend at a volleyball tournament for his daughter. Gerry would move mountains to be present whenever needed as he loved his family more than life itself. Gerry's family was honored to fulfill his wish to remain with them at home, and ensured he had the highest level of care until the very end at the time of his passing. Made possible by his loving and devoted wife of over 49 years Marsha and their children. Gerry had a wonderful life and outlived all expectations surrounded by the love of his family. Gerry was a friend to all, but to his family he was their world. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Marsha Ann (McMinn) Sibble, children Katie (Dennis) Jones, Daniel Sibble, Grandchildren, Dennis, Gwendolynne, Mila, Monica, and Eyla. Mother-in-Law Thelma McMinn, along with close family, and dearest friends David Bittner and Brad Blust. Gerry was predeceased by his parents Paul (Theresia) Sibble, Father-in-Law Richard McMinn, brother-in-law Patrick Sullivan, and his son Adam Sibble. The family would also like to thank Dr. Rhonna Shatz for her unwavering support and advocacy for Gerry during his health journey. Dr. Shatz truly was our family’s angel during our time supporting and caring for Gerry.
