Gilbert W. Crawford, Jr.

Gilbert "Gil" W. Crawford, Jr., age 73 of Cincinnati passed away Friday December 9, 2005 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born April 23, 1932 in Cincinnati, the son of Gilbert W. and Hallie M. (Burnett) Crawford, Sr. On January 15, 1994 he married Carol Wright also in Cincinnati. Gil was a Veteran of the US Army and worked as Quality Control Supervisor for Children's Hospital before retiring in 1995. Gil's memberships included: Hoffner Lodge No. 253 F.& A.M.; Valley Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati; Washington Chapter No. 195 Order Eastern Star; Hamilton High Twelve No. 414 (Organist); Hamilton Commandery No. 41, K.T.; Hamilton Council No. 19, R.& S.M.; Hamilton Chapter No. 21, R.A.M.; Northside Baptist (Past Organist and Musician); Winton Road First Church of God; and Full Gospel Assembly.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Crawford; daughters, Deborah Gillespie and Terri (Steven) Rolfes; step-children, Brian Hanson, James Hanson, and Lynn Rinderle; and 11 grandchildren. Gil was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Willie J. Crawford.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday December 12, 2005 at the Winton Road First Church of God, 6200 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m., Sunday December 11, at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014 with Masonic services beginning at 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
