Hambrick, Granville N.
Granville N. Hamrick, age 78, of Fairfield, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born February 25, 1928 in VeVay, IN, the son of Hubert and Arvina Hambrick. On January 7, 1949 he married Helen Bowen.
Granville served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1951. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. While in Korea, Granville was held as P.O.W. He worked for Fisher Body and was a lifetime member of the Fairfield V.F.W as well as a member of the 233 U.A.W. for retirees.
He is survived by his wife; Helen, sons; Gary (Kim) Hambrick, Nelson (Barbara) Hambrick and Randy (Kristal) Hambrick, grandchildren; Gail Davis, Nicole Smith, Wayne, Benjamin, Rex, Ross, Jarrod and Taylor Hambrick and great grandchildren; Alijah and Jace Hambrick.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Visitation is on Sunday, June, 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Fairfield Community Foundation. The family will accept condolences at avancefuneralhome.com
