Gregory D. Caldwell

Greg Caldwell, age 50 of Fairfield, passed away surrounded by his family and close friends at Mercy of Fairfield on Monday, March 1, 2004. He was born February 19, 1954 in Hamilton, the son of Leonard and Laverne (Harding) Caldwell. He graduated in 1973 from New Miami High School and worked as a Master Machinist all of his life. Greg enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harleys, and helping feed the homeless through the "Helping Hands Ministry". However, nothing brought him greater joy than his grandchildren and family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his son, Denny (Amy) Caldwell; daughter Anne (Rob) Ruwe; grandchildren, Jayden, Sydney, Hannah and Jarrod; brother Rick (Janine) Caldwell; and sisters Sandy (Terry) Sigmon, Charlotte (Nick) Mellott, Cindy (Dwayne) Sandlin, and Christy (Gary) Oglesby. He also leaves behind his good friend Charlotte (Depew) Sester; nephews, Ryan and Austin Jones, Kyle Sigmon, Aaron Philpot, and Nicholas Mellott; nieces, Amanda Jones, Kara Philpot, Paige Oglesby and Tori Mellott; and three very loving girls who he adored, Amanda, Sara, and Danielle Ervin. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Isabelle Harding; and uncle, Leonard Roe.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday March 5, 2004 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Rev. James Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flats Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Helping Hands Ministry, 2355 Jacksonburg Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011.
