Greta Faye Bartels

Greta Faye (nee Foley) Bartels passed away on Monday May 4, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born in Amelia, Ohio on September 13, 1931, the daughter of Radie and Alberta (Nelson) Foley. Greta married Ben Bartels of Hamilton. Having met as students at Miami University, a Miami merger. They were married close to 70 years. After raising 3 children she completed her college education and earned a master’s degree. She was employed by the Butler Health Extension as a case worker for several years. She is a charter member of the Lindenwald Baptist Church now One Church. She played piano and taught Sunday school. Ben and Greta enjoyed frequent travels with friends and arranged trips for the senior members of the LBC family. They especially enjoyed spending time with their family every year in Sanibel Island, Florida, she enjoyed going to many music and sporting events. Ben and Greta attended many activities at Berkeley Square Community. Greta is preceded in death by her husband Ben, her parents, and daughter Linda O’Brien. She is survived by her sons Ed B. (Connie) of Hamilton, Todd W. (Michele) of Roanoke, Texas, 9 grandchildren Jay (Megan) O’Brien, Chris (Samantha) O’Brien, Kelly (Andrew) Chapman, Laura (Kyler) Humphries, Jeremy Bartels, Carrie (Mike) Price, Tyler Bartels, Sean (Bethany) Bartels and Joshua (Sydney) Bartels, along with 14 great-grandchildren and son-in-law Robert O’Brien.

Visitation will be on Saturday May 23, 2026, from 10:00am until the time of service (11:00am) at One Church, 460 Symmes Rd. Fairfield, OH 45014 with Pastor Tyler Green officiating.
