Harlan "Bud" Wert, age 81 of Trenton passed away Friday September 30th, 2005 at the Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born October 28th, 1923 to Elmer and Bessie (Hayes) Wert, in Wayne Township. On September 9, 1972 he married Dorothy Knodel.
Harlan served our country in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of Company C, in the 109th Infantry, the 28th Division. He retired from General Motors in 1985. He was a member of Timberhill Baptist Church, and a lifetime member of the VFW. He loved working in his wood shop and raising his garden.
Harlan leaves a large and loving family behind. Dorothy Wert, his wife of 33 years. Brother Harold (Evelyn) Wert of Hamilton, daughter Virginia (Robert) Rucker of Mission Hills, California, sons Dennis (Ceil) Wert of Hamilton, Harlan Wert Jr. of Hamilton, Gary Wert of Marion, Indiana, and Michael (Donna) Wert of Trenton. Also, step-children Robert (Irene) Quisenberry, Jackie (Oliver) Nieman, Larry (Connie) Knodel, and Kenny (Donna) Knodel, all of Hamilton. Harlan also leaves 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host other family members, and many friends. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held 6-8pm Wednesday October 5, 2005 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday October 6, 2005 with Pastors Scott Miller and Dennis Riddick officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
