Hazel N., age 97 of Hamilton passed away on September 25, 2012 at Berkeley Square.
She was the Director of Housekeeping at Butler County Care Facility for many years. She volunteered much of her time for the Salvation Army. Hazel was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton; and was instrumental in helping start a chapel at Berkeley Square.
She is the beloved wife of the late Sherman Scruggs; dear mother of Norman (Lucy) Scruggs; grandmother of 7; great grandmother of 9; great great grandmother of 3.
She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Thomas Scruggs; daughter, JoAnne Hiatt; grandson, Eric Scruggs; and her brother, Cecil Carrier.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 10-11 a.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William C. Brantingham officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Condolences may be given at www.avancefuneralhome.com
