Helen E.- age 85, died Sunday September 25th in her Fairfield home. Born in Elkhart, IN, on June 27, 1931, the daughter of Martha-Grace and Frank W. Dally. Graduated from Elkhart Senior High School and Gulf Park College, Gulfport, Mississippi. Married to Craig E. Davis in Biloxi, MS on August 27, 1951.
Moved from Elkhart to Fairfield, Ohio in 1955. Was a certified Red Cross Swimming Instructor for over 20 yrs, taught the first YWCA classes ever held in Fairfield City. Helen's childhood home was off the St. Joe River in Elkhart IN, she enjoyed her father's boats, participated in synchronized water ballet in high school and college. Whether near river, lake, pool or ocean, she loved the water. A charter member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, Cincinnati.
She is survived by two children; Margery (Don) Bruce and Dr. F. Mikel (Annie) Davis; six grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Ifrah, Andrew Lentz, Rebekah (Angelo) Manzo, Sarah (Jared) Blackmore, Christopher & Timothy Davis; four step-grandchildren, Tami (David) Barkman, Travis (Andrea) Bruce, Erica & Tori Lewis; one great-grandson Joseph Hopkins; one great-great grandson Charles Gonzales; dear family friends Kay Lynch, the Colina family. She was preceded by her husband (1997) and parents. The family would like to thank the Griswold Home Care aids who cared with compassion.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1PM at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH, 45014 with visitation from 11AM until time of service. Pastor Larry Uczen will officiate. The family suggests remembrances in her name to the John Wesley United Methodist Memorial Fund, 1927 W. Kemper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45240.
