Ira Baxter

BAXTER Ira, age 84, passed away on February 25, 2014. He was born in Vox, KY on November 11, 1929 to James and Celia (nee Williams) Baxter. Ira is the beloved husband of Ima (nee Poynter) for 64 years; to this union was born their daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Wright. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amy (Mark) Ferneding, Tammy Wright, and Lisa Hoelle; great grandchildren, Jillian, Paige, and Travis; sisters, Nylene Reeves, Nell Nelson, Norma (Atwood) Sizemore, Betty (John) Gill, and Susie (Vernon) Karr; brothers, Ermon (Angela) Baxter, Kenneth (Lea) Baxter, Jim (Zoe) Baxter, John (Bertie) Baxter; sisters in law, Myrna (Ray) Watkins and Joyce Willis; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Ira is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Orpha (Warren) Anders, brothers in law, Charles Nelson Jr., Mike LaRue, Raymond Reeves, and Terry Willis. Ira was employed by Fisher Body as a pipe fitter until his retirement in 1987. Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2014 from 12-2 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Charles Anderson officiating.
