Jack Miller, age 83, of Fairfield, passed away on May 22, 2024, at 10:15 PM at Home surrounded by his Family, under the care of Hospice of Cincinnati and his 3 Daughters, Jackie, Jennifer and Jana. He was born on January 9, 1941, in Hamilton, Ohio, the Son of Clara Belle (Robbin) & Lee (LeRoy) Miller. Preceded in Death by Betty Patricia (Tanner) Miller of 54 years and Donna (Hayes) Edds. He was a dedicated Father, Brother, Grandpa, Uncle and Devoted Friend to many.
Jack attended Hamilton City Schools where he was a kicker/punter and was nicknamed, Hookin’ Jack. He then proceeded to the military and served 3 years with the United States Army – stationed in Germany. Married in 1962 and had three strong Daughters, Jackie, Jennifer, & Jana – To whom He called “His Angels” after a serious accident in July of 2021.
He met several friends playing basketball at the Community Center and enjoyed playing golf. He liked to boast about his Hole in One on Hole # 12 at Potters. He also enjoyed competing with his neighbors with his “good-lookin” grass and yard art. He proudly brought his family together at his Lake House in Cumberland Lake, every summer, where he had a love of boating and being on the water with his children, grandchildren, and friends.
Jack worked at Pepsi-Cola for 5 years before landing a job at Fisher Body (General Motors) in Fairfield/Hamilton plant for 24 years. He continued his occupation as a machine repairman with General Motors in Marion, Indiana for 7 years before returning to Ohio and finishing his career and retiring from the GM Delphi Plant in Dayton, Ohio with a total of 33 ½ years. He always supplemented his boredom working part-time at Mercy Health Plex for 11 years and power-washing projects and odd jobs for neighbors.
Preceded in death by his Parents, Clara Belle & Lee Miller and In-Laws, Charles & LaVerne Tanner. His Sister, Janet Graves and Sister-In-Law, Judy Clifford. He leaves to cherish his memory, three beautiful daughters, Jackie (Don Cipollini), Jennifer (Roger Beard), and Jana (Bryan Stinchcomb) and his 6 grandchildren – Tim Beard (Kelsey) & Tyler Beard (Linzi), Jaymee Chapman & Jayson Chapman (Jordan), and Skylar Stinchomb & Delaney (Jorge Rodriguez). He was a Great Grandpa to 5 great-grandchildren: Dalton, Haven, Sophie, Liam and Atlas. He was a loving brother to Robert Miller, of Bakersfield, California and Brother-In-Law, Tom Clifford, as well as loving Uncle to many nieces & nephews and a great Friend to many.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 29th at 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield, OH 45014, Funeral services continued at Avance Funeral Home 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2024, officiated by Pastor Dale Campfield. The burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park immediately after. A gathering will follow at Jack’s favorite Bar & Grille, The Avenue, 4041 Pleasant Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45015 at 2:00 pm (including appetizers).
