Jacqueline 'Jackie' Carmen, age 93, was born September 1, 1923 in Eureka, CA. to parents Alpha May (Lockwood) and Garnet Grant Simpson. She died Friday May 26, 2017 at Hawthorn Glen Senior Living Campus after a brief illness.

Jackie grew up during the Great Depression and she became a Morris Code operator for the rail road during World War II. After moving to Ohio she worked at MacGregor Sports Inc. in Evendale and then in the Accounting Department at Champion Papers Ohio Division in Hamilton. Jackie also worked part time at Florence's Dress Shop in Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years Ray W. Snyder in 2010 and son-in-law James R. Miller in 2012.

Jackie is survived by her son, Michael E. Snyder and devoted daughter-in-law, Linda L. Snyder of Middletown and daughter, Suzete Miller of Fairfield Township. She leaves two grand children, Bridgett D. Lehman and husband Greg of Hamilton and Timothy M. Snyder and friend Noel Burton of Landen Lakes. Jackie is also survived by two great-grand sons Gregory M. Lehman of Joplin, MO. and PFC Cody A. Lehman, USMC of Twenty Nine Palms, CA; numerous nieces and nephews; in-laws, Kitty Luecke, Pauline Reddish, Charles Causey, Irene Causey and Paul (Nancy) Buhr. Her extended family includes Beverly A. Gobeille, Doug Gobeille and their sons Jamie and Jeffrey.

Jackie was active and was blessed with a very wide circle of friends who enjoyed dancing, dining out, karaoke night and church activities.

The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Lichter and Dr. Barry Robertson as well the entire team at Hospice Care of Middletown and all the staff at Hawthorn Glen.

Her body was gifted to science and research at The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine .
