James L. Godsey

James L Godsey, age 90 of Fairfield, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning March 20, 2024. He was born March 3, 1934, in Darfork, KY to the late Drew Godsey and Elizabeth (Walters) Godsey and was their only child. His chosen occupation was Sales Rep., working for Checkers Stores, Sears, Swallen’s and others. Talking with others for a living was what he enjoyed. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling and had many awards for doing so. Golfing, meeting his buddies for breakfast, hanging out with family/friends/neighbors, being involved in church activities and watching his favorite basketball team, the UK Wildcats, were all things he relished. He is survived by his wife of over 68 years Joy, sons Jeff (Kathy) Godsey of Liberty Twp. and Greg (Robin) Godsey of Cedar Rapids, IA. Grandchildren Jeff (Diana) Godsey Jr. (Liberty Twp.), Brian Godsey (Baltimore, MD), Kiley (Trey) Hester (Lebanon, TN), Caleb (Amber) Godsey (Dripping Springs, TX) and Keenan Godsey (Cedar Rapids, IA). Great Grandchildren Jeff III and Will Godsey, Dean, Cohen and Paxton Hester and Lyndon and Forrie Godsey. As per James request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
