Age 88 of Fairfield passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Glen Meadows Nursing Home. He was born January 4, 1926 in Georgetown, KY to the late William and Mary “Susan” Hammonds. In 1948 in Ludlow, KY James married Shirley True who preceded him in death in 2008. James was a member of the Washington Lodge No. 17 F.&A.M., the Shriner’s and the Ancient Order of Scottish Rite.
James is survived by his daughter Sharon Buchanan; his sons Skip (Cheryl) Hammonds and Tim (Debby) Hammonds; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; he was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brothers Marion Hammonds and Charles Hammonds and his sister Jean Taylor.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 10AM until time of service (12Noon) at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, 45014 with Masonic Services and Scottish Rite services beginning at 1130AM.
