Janet L. Mathews

Janet L. Mathews, age 63, of Seaman, OH, formerly of Hamilton passed away Sunday November 14, 2004 at Brown County General Hospital. She was born March 22, 1941 in Hamilton, the daughter of Fred and Pearl (Halcomb) York. On October 4, 1997 she married Thomas Mathews in Gatlinburg, TN. Janet was a dedicated member of the Berean Baptist Church where she loved to worship the Lord and spend time with her church family. Also, Janet loved to be together with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Her unselfishness and devotion to Tom and others will always be remembered and truly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; sons Ron (Tonya) Small, Eddie Mathews and Chuck Mathews; daughters Carla (Phil) Ledford and Brenda Massey; mother Pearl York; brothers, Frederick A. York and Timothy L. (Chris) York; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Andy, Dean, Kristina, Sarah, Brittney, Janelle, Coryn, and Ian; great-grandchildren Adian and Dalton; and nephew Logan. She was preceded in death by her dad, Fred L. York.

Funeral services will be 12 noon, Wednesday November 17, 2004 at the Berean Baptist Church, 6342 Hamilton-Middletown Rd., Middletown, OH, 45044 with Pastor Steve Botts officiating.

Visitation will also be Wednesday from 10 a.m. - until time of service at the Church. Memorials may be made to the Berean Baptist Church. Condolences may be sent to www.avancefuneralhome.com. The Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, Fairfield is serving the family.
