Janice Montene (Conner) Kemp

Janice Montene (nee Conner) Kemp, 83 passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 25, 2024, at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash, OH. Janice was born on April 30, 1941, in Indian Creek in Clinton County, Kentucky. She moved to Hamilton, Ohio in 1956, She graduated from Garfield High School in 1959. Janice was a lifetime member of 50+ year of Beta Sigma Phi-Laureate Delta Epsilon Chapter of Hamilton, Ohio. She was an avid reader, cook, and loved college sports and NBA. She volunteered at several charities and had lots of friends, many of whom since high school. Her greatest joy was cooking for and spending time with her family, whom she loved immensely.

Janice is survived by her beloved daughter Amy M. Kemp, stepson Charlie Kemp Jr., three grandsons Will (Josie) Kemp, Ryan Kemp, and Jeffrey Kemp; her darling great-granddaughter Evelynn Lee Kemp, and second great-granddaughter of expectant parents Will and Josie. She is also survived by her grandson’s mother Cheryl Kemp, one brother Douglas (Carolyn) Conner, sister-in-law Kathleen Kemp, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Charles Kemp Sr.; nine brothers and sisters and their spouses: Bonnie (Hubert) Wilson, Herbert Davis, Mildred (Slim) Stearns, Ida (Minor) Workman, Vida (Rob) Harris, Gene (Ruth) Conner, Virginia (Alton) Copeland, Jimmy (Martha) Conner, Connie (George) Schul, and Karen Mason; nephews Brian Miller, Richard Workman, and George Conner, and niece Roberta Stearns.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday January 4, 2025, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church 4601 Fairfield Ave. Fairfield, OH 45014. Family will receive visitors from 11:00am – 1:00pm and a tribute will be read by her daughter Amy at 1:00pm. Pastor Mark will be officiating.
