Jerry T. Williams, age 90, of Monroe passed away peacefully December 29, 2024. Jerry was born September 27, 1934 in Somerset, Kentucky to Judson and Edith Williams. He was a 1957 graduate of Milford High School, lettered in three sports and was inducted into the school’s Sports Hall of Fame. After high school, Jerry played semi-pro baseball in the Reds’ and Giants’ farm leagues.
While serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, Jerry pitched in the Blue Grass baseball league and helped his Campbellsville team win the state title. He left baseball, when he started his family and later worked many years for Continental Can Company, until he retired. Jerry loved fishing and was an avid baseball fan.
Jerry was baptized in 2005 and was a member of Yankee Road Church of God.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Arlene and his four children and three step-children: Cynthia Williams, Steven Williams, Jennifer (David) Bentancourt, Tom Williams, Karen (Robert) Stewart, Brenda (Robert) Conley, Vickie (Jason) Aspinwall; granddaughter, Stephanie, step-grandchildren, Jordan, Katelyn, Kristi, Ashley Leah and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Carroll Donovan, a nephew, Dwayne Buttrey and a great nephew. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. – until time of funeral service (1 p.m.), Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Pastor Kevin Collins officiating.
