CAMPBELL
John A., age 64 passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Saturday July 20, 2013. He was born in Hamilton on October 28, 1948 the son of the late Frank and Lillian Campbell. He was an Employee of the Cincinnati Enquirer from March 1998 until they closed his division in March 2013. Previous to that John worked at Stevens International (formerly Hamilton Tool) for twenty six years; during which time he was also a Volunteer EMT/ Fireman for the city of Fairfield for 13 years. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting but his most recent interests were container gardening and had planned to have a worm farm. John's favorite pastimes were fishing, grilling, baking, and most of all being with his grand kids. He is survived by his forever and always loving wife of forty seven years, Linda (nee Scherer) Campbell; devoted daughters Candy (Chris) Gilb and Sandy (Mike) Retherford; loving grandchildren, Miranda Damico, Stacey and Miriah Retherford, Zander and Gavin Gilb; great grandson, Nathan Bacon. John is also survived by his mother in law Wilma Scherer Banks; siblings Patti (Earl) Reed, Mary Lou Theiss, and Richard (Carrol) Campbell; Special nephews, Joe (Kelli) Campbell and Kevin (Michelle) Kraft; special friends, Cheryl (Cliff) Breeden, and Charlene Robinson and several other nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by his best friend, Gary (Karen) Jones and neighbors, Doug (Teresa) Ashley, Mike (Alex) Burnette, Dennis (Carol) Glenn, and Tim Rawls. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joyce, Joseph, Ruby, and Henry. Visitation will be Saturday July 27, 2013 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014;Memorial service at 12 p.m. with Reverend Harold Webster officiating; a color guard from the Fairfield Fire Dept. will also be in attendance.
