John P. Kiefer III
On Saturday, March 3rd, 2018, John P. Kiefer III passed peacefully surrounded by his wife and daughters. Born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 26th, 1935 to George and Dorthea (Adams) Kiefer. He graduated from Hamilton Catholic in 1954 and was recruited in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served in the unit that would become the Marine Scout Snipers. On July 26, 1958, he married the love of his life, Wanda (Lake) Kiefer.
He would become a Master Electrician and form J & J Electric Co. He was an ardent outdoorsman and sportsman, enjoying shooting, hunting and fishing. He was an avid bowler and watched every sport, but no team was dearer than Kentucky Basketball.
He leaves behind his wife of nearly 60 years and his proudest accomplishment, his three daughters, Beth (Dave) Hensley, Lorri Kiefer, and Cindy (Gary) Bown; grandchildren Andy, Mark, Kate, Doug, Ally, Gary, and Annalee; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, James Kiefer; one sister, JoAnna Hensley; and one special niece, Lisa (Ronnie) Hawn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings, Mary, Helene, and Nicholi Kiefer; and granddaughter, Megan Toler.
Visitation will be held at Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield, Ohio, 45014 from 12-1 on Thursday, March 8th, 2018. The funeral service will begin at 1PM led by Pastor Cecil Day with burial following at Hickory Flats Cemetery in Overpeck.
