John Allen, age 88 passed away on March 3, 2012. John was the beloved husband for 67 years to Marquerite Louise (nee Oligee) McKibben. He was the Cherished son of the late John Actor McKibben and Grace Dorthy (nee Reichwein) McKibben.
Loving father of; James Alan McKibben ,Lebanon, Ohio, Janet "Jami" Grace Gasper,Kings Mills, Ohio and Emily (Donald) Wight, near Marysville, Ohio; devoted grandfather of ,Jessica (Alberto) Vasquez, Jeffrey Gasper, Andrew Gasper, Abigal Wight, Benjamin Wight and his fiancee Brenna Hassler; dear great grandfather of, Alison and Gretchen Gasper, Kimberly, Bridgette and Charlotte Vasquez and Carson Andrew Gasper. Also survived by his cousins; Verna Meyer and the late John Howard Huey; numerous nieces and nephews.
Joined the Navy in 1941 and served proudly as a"Tin Can Sailor" on the USS Sigsbee DD502 during WWII in the Pacific area including 13 battle campaigns. 60 year member of Masonic McMakin Lodge, Scottish Rite, Sons of American Revolution and other organizations.
President of McKibben Realty and also worked many years as a real estate appraiser.
Visitation will be Wednesday March 7, 2012 from 1-2:30 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Rd., Mt. Healthy, OH 45231. Funeral service will follow at 2.30 p.m. Condolences may be given at www.avancefuneralhome.com
