John C. Miller

September 2, 1932 — November 17, 2005

John C. Miller, age 73 of Hamilton, passed away Thursday November 17, 2005 at 5:35 a.m. in Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born in Springdale, OH on September 2nd, 1932, the son of Alice (Ward) and Clyde W. Miller.

John served his country as an aircraft engine mechanic in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged May 24, 1954. He worked over 14 years at Fernald and 31 1/2 years in Public Service retiring on February 28th, 1994 from Butler County Water and Sewer Department as the Field Superintendent.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra K. Coffey and her husband Tim of Fairfield; 3 grandsons, M. Derek Willsey, Timothy John Coffey, and Kevin Matthew Coffey; great-grandson, M. Garrett Willsey; step-daughter, Sandra (Sam) Barcellona; step-grandson, Frank Barcellona; brother, Bill Miller; sister, Sherry Roberts; numerous nieces and nephews; and his closest friends, Floyd Bowling, Don Briggs and Gary Metcalf. John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura "Bernice" (Parker) Miller; and 2 sisters, Jane Burgjohann, his twin and Marge Nickley.

The family would like to thank Dr. E.J. Reyes for her care and compassion, as well as the Hamilton Paramedics, Mercy South Emergency Room and to Judith Mitchell and the staff on 3 tower.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday November 23, 2005 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. All friends and family are invited to the VFW Hall following the services in remembrance of John. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday November 22, at the funeral home.
