Joseph "Don" Berter

Joseph “Don” age 87, of Fairfield passed away on November 17, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 23, 1932 in Cincinnati to the late Thomas and Genevieve Berter. On June 4, 1955 he married JoAnn Combs; she preceded him in death on April 19, 2012. Don was the acting volunteer fire chief for Fairfield Fire Department in 1984 and he was employed by the Ford Motor Company for 34 years.

He is survived by his children, Kim Meyers, Don Berter, and Dan (Tammie) Berter; grandchildren, Nicole (Chad), Mollie (Kenny), Megan, Ryan (Carrie), Jonathan (Tiffany) , Christopher, David (Carly), Haley, Allie, Tiffany, Daniel, Colin, Brennan, and Maddie; great grandchildren, Faith, Kaycee, Aurora, Christian, Caelyn, Garret, Jaxen, Miller, Ridge, Dillan, Levi, Abby, and Julian; brothers, Neal Berter and Dave (Karen) Berter; numerous other family and friends.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
