Joseph "Joe" W. Schwarz

There are a great many adjectives one could use to describe Joseph “Joe” Schwarz—formidable, driven, successful, charismatic—all come to mind. As a father, grandfather, great grandfather, and husband, Joseph was a family man at heart. He had love and generosity for all who knew him, and advice for anyone who needed an ear to listen.

For over 60 years Joe devoted himself to the development and betterment of Fairfield, Ohio as the recognized trailblazer who led the charge which transformed the city into what it is today. As a long-time civic and business leader, with his many ventures within the real estate sector and his entrepreneurial endeavors, Joe was a self-made business man known for helping others with their similar successes. At the age of 91 Joe lived a long, prosperous, life filled with many triumphant successes; he will be greatly missed within his community.

Joe is survived by his three grandchildren, Sonny (Chris) Schwarz, Rachel Schwarz, and Joseph “Zack” Schwarz, his daughter Amanda Krach, his grandchildren Olivia Walker and Opal Walker, his great grandchild Josephine Wheaton, and his niece Donna (Randy) Moore. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Marlene Schwarz, his son Joseph “JoJo” Schwarz, and his three beloved sisters—Laura, Betty, and Evelyn. To know Joe is to know he is returning home to his wife and son with a smile on his face.
