Joseph Charles Kleiman, Jr.

December 29, 1922 — August 14, 2007

Age 84 of Fairfield passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at his home. He was born December 29, 1922 in Bluefield, WVA, the son of Joseph C. and Margaret (Higgins) Kleiman, Sr. On November 29, 1947 he married Mazie Ruth Meadows in Charleston, WVA. Joseph was a WWII Veteran serving his country in the US Navy and served as the Crew Chief for the original "Blue Angels" in Jacksonville, FL. He worked in the Scale Industry including Toledo Scale Co., National Lead Co. at the Fernald Plant, and most recently owned and retired from Stites Scale Co. in Cincinnati. Mr. Kleiman was a founding member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mazie "Micky" of nearly 60 years; children, Peggy Kleiman (Dale) Schurfranz, Teresa Kleiman (Stephen) Rosenfeld, Joseph C. Kleiman, III, Lisa Kleiman Lowe, Michele Kleiman (Andrew) Temmel, and Stephen Kleiman (Gina); grandfather of 17; and great-grandfather of 3. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother and sister.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 400 Nilles Rd., Fairfield with Fr. Larry Tharp, Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, August 17 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield.
