Listen to Obituary

Joseph D. Reeves, age 76, of Fairfield, Ohio passed away on May 24, 2026.

Born in Birmingham, Joseph moved with his family to Morrow in 1951, where much of his story began to unfold. Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Ingles; his mother, Ruby I. Reeves Peace; his father, Joseph Daniel Reeves; his sister, Evelyn I. York; and his brother-in-law, Brian Ingles. He is survived by his daughter, Tasha Ingles; his best buddy and grandson, Michael; his sister, Helen Ledbetter; his brother-in-law, Bret and Becky Ingles; his nephews, Dan and Linda Ledbetter, and Trent and Cindy Proffitt; and his great-nieces, Maggie and Tommy Smith, and Emma Ledbetter. Joseph worked for Lebanon United Telephone Service for many years before moving to California, where he continued working in the telephone industry. He often shared stories about installing phone lines in famous homes, memories that carried a certain spark in his voice. Though he was a private man, those close to him knew there was always more beneath the surface. Later in life, after returning to Ohio, Joseph worked hard to reconnect with and make up for lost time with the people he loved most. Some of his happiest moments were spent by the pond fishing, sleeping under the stars, and sharing those quiet nights with his grandson nearby. He loved blues music turned up loud, sunny days poolside, and a cold beer in hand. He carried a wild streak, but underneath it lived a genuinely good heart. Joseph was a devoted husband, a proud grandfather, and a man whose presence could fill a backyard like a blues guitar rolling through a warm summer night. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Burial services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Date and time are to be determined.
