Joseph “Kelly”, age 74, of Fairfield passed away on December 6, 2018 after a short illness. He was born in Columbus, OH on July 11, 1944 to the late Charles Robert and Helen Grace Kelly. On December 31, 1963 he married the love of his life Fran Szalai she preceded him in death on December 15, 2012.

Kelly was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Vietnam War. He entered the service on November 12, 1963 and retired from active service on October 31, 1986. Kelly is survived by his children, John C. (Peggy) Kelly, Dawn M. Wootten, Carol (Scott) Mazer; grandchildren, Jessica Kelly, Darcy Ward, Joseph Harter, Brian Harter, and Sami Mazer; great grandchildren, Logan, Serena, Aisling, and Alessa; his companion and sweetie, Lynn Warmouth; and his buddy Toby. He is also survived by his brothers in law, Joe Lucas and Larry Watson; sisters in law, Tina (Dave) Coates, and Angie (David) Kidd; numerous other family and friends.

Kelly is preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, June “Poochie” Lucas; sister in law, Kathy Watson; brother in law, John “Chidy” (Judy) Szalai.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, 45014. Funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
