Kathleen Ann Godsey

Kathleen Ann (Hellmann) Godsey, age 66 of Liberty Twp, OH, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Thursday, May 28, 2026. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother ('Nana' a.k.a. 'Mrs. Donut'), friend, and wife of over 48 years to her husband, Jeff.

Kathy was born July 13, 1959, in Ft. Thomas, KY (Campbell County) to Robert Joseph Hellmann and Nancy Louise (Gill) Hellmann and was the oldest of six siblings. Getting married after high school to her 'high school sweetheart', Jeff, she created a happy home for both. While raising their two sons, she found time to attend college and earn a paralegal degree with a minor in accounting. She initially worked in law offices before changing her career path to payroll/tax administration. In addition, in a break between office jobs, she found enjoyment being a nanny to her sister Nancy's two young sons.

Her favorite vacations were always someplace warm and -as pure coincidence- had a beach and ocean nearby. Some of her most treasured times were spent relaxing on the patio in the sunshine or around a fire pit eating s'mores with family. Delivering donuts many times to her two cherished grandsons earned her the nickname of 'Mrs. Donut'.

She is survived by husband Jeff Godsey ('J-Pa' aka 'Mr. Donut') of Liberty Twp., sons Jeff (Diana) Godsey Jr. (Liberty Twp.) and Brian Godsey, grandsons Jeff III and Will Godsey, siblings Ellen (Larry) Ochs, Bob (Giovanna) Hellmann, Greg (Toni) Hellmann, Tim (Cari) Hellmann, brother-in-law John Hunter, as well as her nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her sister Nancy (Hellmann) Hunter and her parents Bob and Nancy.

In her final days, at home, she was cared for by immediate family as well as the wonderful Queen City Hospice team and had the opportunity for her siblings and friends to visit, reminisce, and share caring moments together.

Kathy will be missed greatly.
