Katrina Marie Kinney (Corwin), 64, of Hamilton, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Berkeley Square in Hamilton, OH after her long battle with CADASIL a rare genetic neurological disorder.
She was born August 2,1961, in Cadillac, Michigan a daughter of the late Russell and Linda Corwin. Katrina was also preceded in death by her sister Cassandra Corwin Lemon, her son Adam and niece Stephanie.
Katrina is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Gary Kinney; her daughter, Chelsea Fulks; and her stepchildren, Nicole Montgomery and John Blum and Jessica Ginn. She was a proud and adoring Nana to 11 grandchildren, who will forever cherish her playfulness, warm hugs, bedtime stories, talks in the kitchen, and gentle wisdom.
She is also survived by her brother, Drew Corwin, sister, Michelle Rayfield, and many dear friends who became like family.
Katrina graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1979 and went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in education from Central Michigan University. She loved teaching and had a gift for working with kids. Katrina’s strong work ethic led her to the corrugated industry where she would meet her husband Gary Kinney, “the love of her life”. Gary and Katrina married in 1993. She was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, and Nana. Her time with family is what brought her the most joy.
Katrina and Gary enjoyed many adventures and travels together. She especially cherished traveling back to Michigan to visit with family and friends, beach trips to South Carolina, leading her Girl Scout troop to Washington DC and white water rafting in West Virginia, the trip to Ireland with her “E” Club friends, an Alaskan cruise with family, trips to Florida with her grandkids, and a few trips to NYC especially the one attended by her father Russ.
Her love language was certainly acts of service and it gave her great joy to host family and friends for holidays and celebrations of all kinds. Christmas was her favorite and every room would be thoughtfully decorated.
Katrina had a love for life that was infectious. She is remembered for a wonderful sense of humor, a heart of gold, and her kind nature towards everyone she met. She was known for her contagious laugh, love of animals, especially her dogs, her hard work ethic, and her strong unwavering dedication to those she loved.
Katrina’s legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love will be carried on by those who knew and adored her. In lieu of flowers, donations will be made in Katrina's memory for her family members who also have CADASIL.
