Keith Alvin Ronningen

Keith A. Ronningen, 79, of Fairfield Township, OH passed away peacefully on May 10, 2016 at Bethesda North Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He had been hospitalized since an auto accident in FL on March 7, 2016.  He was born on January 11, 1937 to Jean and Alvin Ronningen in Baldwin, WI, the second baby born at that hospital.  He was a 1955 graduate of River Falls (WI) High School and a 1959 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.  He was drafted into the Army and served from 1959 to 1961, followed by serving in the reserves until being honorably discharged in 1965.

He married his loving wife, Sandy, in Wausau, WI on February 9, 1963 and they recently celebrated 53 years of marriage.  Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Jeff (Karen) of Symmes Twp, OH and Steve of St.Claire Twp, OH plus grandchildren Madeline and Alexandra Ronningen and Samuel Smith.  He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Schultz of Hudson, WI. He was preceded in death by brothers Tom and John Ronningen and brother-in-law Willard Schultz.

After 30 years of service he retired from Sentry Insurance in 1955.  He was an avid golfer having been a member of the former Wildwood Country Club in Fairfield and Hamilton Elks Club.  He was a longtime, active member of Augsburg Lutheran Church and more recently St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.  He was also a lifetime member of Elks No. 93 Lodge.

Visitation will be at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church at 4601 Fairfield Ave., Fairfield, OH on May 21, 2016 from 10:00 AM to noon followed by a Celebration of His Life Service.  Lunch will be served immediately following the Service.
