Larry D., age 74 of Kankakee IL, previously of Lindenwald; passed away on March 20, 2013. He was born on December 3, 1938 in Coalmont, IN to Frank and Matilda (nee Stoops) Black. Larry is the beloved husband of 55 years to Bernita (nee Reed); loving father of Deborah and her husband Dr. George Roebuck; Bill and his wife Julie Black, and Dave Black; dear grandfather of Jill (James) Weiss, Melissa (Jon) Coppock, Eric (Danielle) Roebuck, Alexander Black, and Eddie Black; great grandfather of Christopher, Abigail, and Eden. He is also survived by his brothers, Forest E. (Pat) Black and Robert L. (Betty) Black; sister in law Martha Black; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother James R. Black; and his infant sister Gladys Black.
Visitation will be Tuesday March 26, 2013 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Funeral services will begin at noon with Pastors Hugh and Brad Rosenberg officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to TCA Missions, 7350 Dixie Hwy., Fairfield, OH 45014.
