Leatrice "Lea" J. Brookins
November 17, 1927 — March 14, 2007
died Friday, March 14, 2008, at age 79. She was born and raised on a Nebraska farm and graduated from Creighton University. She moved to Cincinnati in 1957 when Procter and Gamble purchased The Duncan Hines Co. in Omaha.
Lea's "down-home" humor won many friends during her career at P&G, years of activity in the Villages of Northgate Homeowners Association and many world-wide trips she and friends took. Lea and special friend "Mo" enjoyed exploring Cincinnati.
Lea is remembered as a vibrant person, telling stories of her childhood and her trips. She loved to play golf and garden in her patio. She loved cats and supported Native American, nature and animal charities. Her many friends and caregiver "family" will miss her.
A memorial service will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Rose Garden niche) on Tuesday, March 25 at 11:00 AM. Condolences: avancefuneralhome.com
