Leslie C. Kinner, age 87 of Hamilton passed away Tuesday March 28, 2006 at Vitas Hospice - Ft. Hamilton. He was born October 7, 1918 in Seven Mile, OH, the son of Fred and Margaret (Byerline) Kinner. On June 17, 1939 he married his wife Lelia Schaeffer Kinner, beginning their wonderful journey together for nearly 67 years. Les graduated from Seven Mile High School in 1936 and later served his country during WWII in the US Army1473rd Engineer Maintenance Co., achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked at Hamilton Tool as an Electrical Foreman, retiring after 30 years of service. Les was a member of: Washington Lodge No. 17, F.&A.M.; Hamilton Chapter No. 21, R.A.M.; Hamilton Council No. 19, Royal and Select Masons; Hamilton Commandery No. 41, Knights Templar (Honorary Commander); Ft. Hamilton Chapter No. 568, O.E.S. (Past Patron); High Twelve Club; Scottish Rite, Valley of Cincinnati Chapter; Antioch Shrine-Dayton; Hamilton Tool Retirees; the Seven Mile Historical Society; and the First St. John United Church of Christ.
Mr. Kinner will always be remembered for being a true gentleman. His demeanor was quiet, yet always powerful in his beliefs of helping others and offering a kind word. He exemplified the pursuit of service to God, Family and Country. Les will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Leslie leaves behind his loving wife, Lelia Kinner; son, Robert "Bob" Kinner; grandson, Jeff Kinner; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anita and Don Mitchell, Betty and Bill Schaeffer and Laura and Virgil Schaeffer; nieces and nephews, Trina Mitchell, Darcy and Russ Rouse, Todd and Atsuko Mitchell, Kalea and Greg LaFever, Alice Kaye and Bill Fine, David Schaeffer, and Bill Schaeffer. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vernon Kinner; and sisters, Helen Byers and Ruth Doughman.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday April 1, 2006 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Pastor David Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday March 31, 2006 with Masonic Services beginning at 7 p.m., followed by Scottish Rite ring ceremony and Eastern Star service, respectfully.
