Loraine Wissing

Loraine Fredricka Wissing , 98, died Friday December 6, 2024.  She was born to William and Anna (Kolbus) Probst November 21, 1926.  Lorraine married George W. Wissing on November 23, 1946 in St. George’s Church. Together they raised eight children and in addition she worked with her husband, as a bookkeeper.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir.  She liked to do needlepoint and she loved to bake.

Loraine leaves behind her sons George (Mryna), Thomas (Terry), Ralph (Gail Cash), Patrick (Rosemary), Arthur (Tina Wright), Mark Wissing (Lisa Beaver) and her daughter, Anna King.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, her son, John Wissing and all her siblings: Alma Ambrose, Viola Morris, Loretta Hook, Walter Probst, Norman Probst, Raymond Probst and Wilbert Probst.

Visitation will be 10 A.M. until time of Mass of Christian Burial (11 A.M.), Thursday, December 12, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5361 Dry Ridge Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45252 with Father Don West officiating.  Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.
