Luella Onkst

Age 82 of Hamilton went home to be with her Lord and husband, Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. She was born May 8, 1926 in London, KY, the daughter of J.C. and Dorthy (Smith) Reams. On June 6, 1947 Luella married Herbert Onkst in London, KY. She was a member of the East River Road Baptist Church. Luella enjoyed gardening and traveling, but most importantly she loved being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Onkst leaves behind her daughter, Karen Wright; grandchildren, Toni (Alvaro) Mendoza, Todd (Danielle) Wright; and great-grandchildren, Alvaro, Isabela, Avery and Liliana; brothers, Curtis (Gertie) Reams, Jimmie (June) Reams, Kenneth (Mary Rose) Reams, and Rosco Reams; and many family and friends. She was preceded in death by parents; husband Herbert on December 4, 2008; sister, Mary; brothers, John and Lester.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and aids at Huntington Court for the care and friendship they gave.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to East River Road Baptist Church.
