Lydia B. Gutierrez

Lydia (Briseño) Gutierrez, went to be with the Lord at age 82 on Saturday, August 24, 2019. She was born on August 2, 1937 in Harlingen, TX to Jose “Chon” Briseño and Josefina Sanchez. Lydia was lovingly raised by her mother Lina Briseño after Josefina passed away.

She is survived by her 5 loving children, Tina Garza, Mary (Rick) Hernandez, Maria “Lucy” (Matthew) Feeney, Edward (Regina) Gutierrez, and Lydia “Lila”(Matthew) Rambo; six siblings; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. Lydia is also survived by several cousins; nieces and nephews; and her beloved comadres from Lytle and Natalia, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose “Chon” Briseño, Josefina Sanchez, and Lina Briseño. Lydia will be remembered for her smile, sense of humor, generosity, and cheerful spirit.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Fairfield First Baptist Church, 1072 Hicks Boulevard, Fairfield 45014. Lydia will be laid to rest in Devine, TX. Condolences may be offered at www.avancefuneralhome.com
